As the finalists of the 18th Taishin Arts Award are announced and the recipients are about to be announced, the world is also facing the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. The lobby of Taishin Tower, which used to be an exhibition space, is now occupied by a passageway for implementing pandemic prevention measures. For this reason, the Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture specially invites “seed spacelab co.” to reimagine the passageway and draw inspiration from the retractable belt barriers used to manage the traffic flow for checking body temperature. Raising and crisscrossing the retractable belt barriers, the passageway is ingeniously converted into an art corridor, with an eye-catching metal structure forming the number “18” in Roman numerals. The work therefore embodies our sincere hope that the buds of art can continue to grow during this challenge, conveying our faith and soon blooming in Taishin Tower.
